Tim Johnson

Tim Johnson joined Kairos after serving fourteen years as Senior Pastor for a large congregation in the Twin Cities. He recognizes how a clear and compelling mission focus can elicit people’s passions and gifts. Coming together around mission goals and purpose helps everyone discover their place of contribution and involvement. Tim brings with him a deep passion for connecting congregational mission with the hearts and gifts of their members. 

Tim also served as Associate Director for Mission Support with Wartburg Theological Seminary, where his experience in fundraising, planned and creative giving, stewardship development and strategic planning gives him an important depth of understanding on how to resource ministry goals.

Tim knows the importance of developing a culture of generosity, recognizing that the joy of giving fuels a community’s engagement in their God-given calling.  Engaging in meaningful and impactful outreach also elevates the vitality and energy of each family of faith.  He recognizes the importance of helping each congregation to understand and live out of their unique mission.  As ministry is aligned with mission and vision, an exciting and compelling future creates energy and engagement in making a lasting impact.    His work helps congregations discover and develop the resources needed for their calling. 

Tim is a member of the Association of Lutheran Development Executives. He deeply believes in and is impassioned about the vision and work of Kairos, recognizing that creative and well-developed focus and process advances the work of each church’s critical contribution to God’s Kingdom. 

Tim grew up in San Diego, CA and currently resides in the west Metro area of the Twin Cities.  Tim and his wife, Erin, are the proud parents of six children.
